June Update 2


Short update this time! The last two weeks I've been working pretty much exclusively on the cutscenes for the end of the gossip scenario and the final confrontation where the player has to crack the mystery. It's been a ton of work eventing everything and writing dialogue. I'd like to share a screenshot or a video but I don't want to spoil the end of the scenario, so I think for this one it's just going to be text. Sorry!

The end is finally in sight! The cutscenes are juuust about done. The scenario needs a boss fight to finish on, and then I need to do a little tuning of the numbers in the Gossip scenario to give it the appropriate difficulty. I'm pretty optimistic that I'll be able to cut a release in two weeks that'll actually be playable start to end.

Reflecting on how long this scenario has taken, it has made me realise that Gossip just fundamentally involves a huge amount of writing and eventing that's very time consuming. While I really enjoy dialogue driven games with a lot of story and conversation, I'm wondering now whether the time cost is worth it. I guess we'll see once it's in players' hands.
