Development Update 5
It’s been a long time since I posted an update! A lot has happened, more with me than with the game, but I’d like to share an update. I moved home and had some issues at work which really stressed me out through all of summer. It really threw a wrench in the way of the game, but now things have calmed down and I’ve been steadily chipping away at the game again.
So, what’s new, where are we? I’ve hammered the game into shape with three towns, three dungeons, recruitable characters and a lot of random encounters. There are lots of little improvements here and there - a better victory scene post battle, music stings for staying in the inn, new world map, new town maps, tweaked encounter rates and more. I’m hoping to post another demo before the end of the year.
Playing the game end to end week after week now and it’s really helped bring into focus which bits need the most attention, seeing everything in context. I look forward to seeing other people play it too!
The main focus for me now is on the combat encounters, trying to get the numbers in the right zone, filling in missing enemies and fights, and finding all the little weird rough patches that don’t quite play right. I hope to share more of that in the future!
